Our visit to Abilashrayam Trust was a very different experience. We were totally stunned by the confidence of the tiny tots. They spoke such fluent English. Their trustee Ms. Pooja Kulkarni explained that all the kids attended an excellent English medium school nearby and they had dedicated staff to give them weekly tests and help the kids with their studies as their main aim was to arm these kids with good education so that they can face the world better equiped.
The kids had fun activities planned for them and they were given some magic colouring books and colour pencils. They happily spent more than an hour drawing and they also sent back drawings duly signed by them for my husband; Mr. Jaggesh.
The kids were telling me that it seemed like a miracle that an actor they all loved and adored was going to hold the drawings they did. It was such a heart-warming moment. Feeling totally loved and clutching my prized possession, the childrens drawings, I returned home with a warm glow in my heart.
As promised, shard the pic of my hubby having their drawings.
I just wish more people would volunteer to give a small amount to this trust to help the little ones study.
We, the volunteers from Apeksha Foundation visited Anugraha Orphanage at Summanhalli on July 12, 2017.
The tiny tots were eagerly awaiting our arrival as they were informed that they are getting visitors during their tea time. Their happiness was so infectious when we gave them some sports goods, stationary items and all kids studying in 5th std and above were given ink pens as it was mandatory in their school curriculum.
They got out the child in us..ha ha..they insisted we also play throwball with them; dragging my memories back to school days. Thorougly enjoyed playing with the little ones, sharing their tea, and seeing them dreamy eyed over their individual pens.
Their smiles and joy keeps us going. Lets us see how blessed we are.
Looking forward to our next visit, in another orphanage, trying to share the love and warmth which they have in abundance.
Anugraha is our next scheduled visit. It is a girl's rehabilitation center for kids.

It was a tense Sunday with the India-Pakistan cricket final match and we from Apeksha Foundation were equally excited but for a completely different reason. We were waiting to meet up with the little ones in Shishumandira on June 18. We were greeted by their mananging staff and teachers Mr. Veeresh, Mr. Jogesh and Mr. Ravikumar. As were climbing up the floors to meet the kids, we were extremely impressed with the well-lit building and the hygenic surroundings. We had the aroma of a tadka wafting down the stairs.
We were greeted with broad smiles from 20 tiny tots ranging from 5th to 10th std. Their eyes were twinkling with merriment when the saw the notebooks, storybooks, paint material, the sports goodies and the chocolates which we had carried for them.
They were eagerly awaiting to enact a wonderful small skit for us. Some of the kids sang lovely kannada songs and a kid mimicked jokes till he had all of us in splits. Time just flew by and we had to wave our goodbyes but not before they had promised us they are going to give their dreams and goals all that they have and with promises of meeting again soon, we drove off with them waving from the windows with all their might.

We are happy to announce the entire community that we have launched the Apeksha Foundation in the year 2012 to serve the downtrodden society;
Apeksha Foundation was founded under the vision of our Managing Trustee Smt. Parimala Jaggesh in the year 2012. She has been associated with various social activities alongwith her husband Mr. Jaggesh - Actor-Politician-ex MLA-ex MLC. It is a well-documented fact that they have donated free ambulances, sites, education funds on innumerable occasions in the last 30 years.
With the sole purpose of giving back to the society, the basic aim of the foundation is to act as a bridge between the lesser fortunate kids, women and elderly & the time and inclination of the people who want to leave the world as a better place for everyone.
Smt Parimala Jaggesh has evolved Apeksha Foundation to serve the poor students with education, work towards women empowerment and elderly care.
Parimala Jaggesh firmly believes:
We make a living by what we get -
But, we make a life by what we give
